Abstarct: The present research attempts to demonstrate how frxame semantics is applied to vocabulary teaching by putting forward a frxame-semantics-baxsed textbook and providing techniques for teaching it. For this purpose, a textbook including six frxames, i.e., residence, weather, sleep, quarrelling, travel, and partiality, was prepared. Techniques such as prototypical categorization and frxame semantics maps were used for designing the lessons and teaching the vocabulary. The native speakers' background knowledge was extracted from frxameNet to determine lexical differences. The textbook was taught to a classroom of ten students, who were interviewed after 12 sessions, to explain how they felt about the new teaching method compared to the traditional vocabulary teaching methods. It was observed that what students comprehend from the approach is in line with the purposes of frxame semantics. They realize that this approach activates the vocabulary, differentiates the concepts from each other, and draws the semantic maps so that a holistic picture of the frxame is recognized. Teachers and students can benefit from this approach provided that they learn the principles of frxame semantics.
