PE4 : An Exploratory Study on Iranian EFL Teachers’ Level of Job Satisfaction

Abstarct: This study aimed at exploring EFL teachers’ level of job satisfaction. Since myriads of research about the issue have been conducted through distributing questionnaires among EFL teachers, the researcher, here, delved into this issue putting all her efforts to give voice to EFL teachers and made them feel heard. To this end, fifteen experienced EFL teachers were selected to freely share their views through open-ended interview. The acquired data, then, were deeply evaluated in line with the grounded theory. The coding procedure differentiated two categories, namely, the reasons behind job satisfaction and the reasons behind job dissatisfaction. Each category has encompassed its own sub-categories. This study has yielded fruitful results for those in authorities to help EFL teachers feel more motivated and to contribute to the process of English learning, consequently.
