Abstarct: According to the latest population forecasts, the elderly population is increasing day by day, and our country is among the countries with the highest rate of increase in the elderly population in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to all aspects of the lives of the elderly. If their needs are not addressed, society will face many consequences. Considering the fundamental changes people experience in old age, it is necessary to investigate and recognize their characteristics from all dimensions in order to meet their needs and solve their problems. This research aims to respond to the need for a lively, active life by examining the features of aging, theories about aging, and examples implemented inside and outside of Iran, while using criteria required for the living environment of the elderly and disabled. baxsed on this, a residential complex has been designed for the elderly and disabled in the 9th district of Tabriz. This complex provides easy access to various services and a pleasant climate, which is important for their health. Additionally, the design aims to increase and improve the possibility of communication between the elderly and other generations of society, as there is a need for social interactions and to avoid isolation. The method of qualitative research and analysis of similar samples has been used for this purpose. The theoretical frxamework of the plan was formed through library studies and understanding the characteristics of the aging period and its surrounding theories. By examining similar examples, their strengths were used in the design. Finally, by studying the design platform and criteria for the disabled and elderly, the architectural design of the complex was formed.
