Abstarct: In today's cities we face the lack of lively urban areas, in which, social and cultural activities take place. One of those areas related to social and cultural affairs which cause liveliness for the city is cinema. Cinema directly contacts with its audience and plays a key role in improving the culture of the society. The cinemas are not used to only watch movies anymore. They are rather places to make cultural and social interactions in the form of cineplexes and cultural centers. The most prominent matter in this research is to design a center which is a lively public place to watch a movie in a social atmosphere and to be perceived as a foundation for public activities. The proposal is presented as a cultural center and cineplex to form and improve social interactions. In this research, in order to reach a suitable architecture and to combine urban design elements with cultural centers and cineplexes, we employed a interpretive-historical method and the environmental factors which caused the foundations to form and improve culture were assessed. Furthermore, due to the lack of necessary entertainment facilities in Shiraz city, with the aim of improving arts and culture, we tried to provide urban public areas for entertainment, making collective memory for the population and spending time.
