Abstarct: In recent years, following the consequences of the growing population growth and the construction of residential complexes that are not related to the environment, the issue of how to adapt residential designs to their context, taking into account all aspects of human needs, is the focus of attention of experts. . Therefore, it is important to identify the principles and patterns deriving from the context and to use them logically to communicate between residential space and human beings. This research seeks to apply these principles in the design of residential complexes.On this basis, after identifying the housing, residential complexes and the principles governing their design, they are concerned with studies of regionalism and how to use this theory. baxsed on this approach, buildings are recognized when they meet the criteria that arise As well as territorial and human characteristics, and with the passage of time, they can maintain their accountability. Since past Iranian architecture has developed baxsed on certain criteria and principles and models that fit the lives of people, the recognition and analysis of the structure and The patterns used in this area of planning and designing residential areas have provided the subject of this project. Also, in order to use similar experiences, the comparative study of two residential complexes with a regionalization approach in Iran and India and the extraction of their design principles has been discussed. Finally, baxsed on the obtained principles and the identification of factors affecting the formation of housing Residential housing has been designed in Mashhad.
