Abstarct: The subject of my thesis for the Master of Science degree is ‘Designing a Multi-media Centre’ in one of most promising areas of Tehran which can be an ideal place for designing a public building. This site hosts the firsts and the bests examples of Iranian modern architecture. Since “media” is one of most important concepts in social communications for public appreciation of sciences and arts, the presence of this buildings in a strategic site could be socially influential. Because of the importance of this site, a contextual approach was chosen in design process. In this course I initially review the basic aspects of contextualism in architecture and urbanization. Then “media” a d its relations with Architecture is analyzed. Finally, we review related buildings in that respect and finally document the design process.
