Abstarct: Zurkhaneh sports are the ancient relic of Iran, which its archaism, to the testimony of historical evidence back to more than three thousand years ago. Zurkhaneh is an allegoric battlefield of the champions who are always in the struggle against falsehoods and moral vices, both in their own soul and in society, and follow body and soul breeding together in order to help the oppressed people and preserve the moral values in society. Historically, the Zurkhaneh sports and wrestling were the first sports of the country, but its prosperity declined over time, and other sports were accepted by the next generations. One of the reasons for the decline of ancient sport, was the lack of Zurkhaneh and other centers for sports, and also not updating the design of the Zurkhaneh centers according to the principles of modern architecture. In the present research, firstly, the effective architectural criteria on the promotion of social and cultural interactions have been investigated. The mentioned criteria are categorized in three general dimensions "objective", "functional" and "subjective", and also in the descxription of objective criteria (as a factor which its change depends on the architect more than the other mentioned factors), the readability, proximity, permeability and flexibility criteria have the highest priority and importance. Then, with studying of the different Zurkhaneh centers and other social centers, their principles of success in the field of architecture and culture have been identified. Principles like focusing on the prevailing cultural context, diversifying activities, proper use of the market and daily business activities, creativity in changing the use of old places in order to increase utility, assigning some managerial roles to users, increasing visual permeability, and not blocking conventional paths where people use to cross from, are the most important factors in the social and cultural prosperity of the studied cases. Finally, by identifying a suitable place in accordance with the cultural dimension of Zurkhaneh centers in the southeastern part of Tehran (City of Ray), a standard complex for heroic sports and Zurkhaneh centers was designed to revive this sport, promoting social and cultural interactions in the capital city of the country, regarding the mentioned criteria.
