Abstarct: The main objective of this research is to design residential complexes with an emphasis on the concept of neighborhood and enhancing the sense of place attachment in the city of Zabol. This study identifies and analyzes the factors that influence the design of residential complexes and can enhance social interactions and the sense of place. The research was conducted using descxriptive-analytical methods, combining documentary and field studies. Initially, theoretical foundations and indicators related to neighborhood and sense of place were extracted from scientific literature. Then, data were collected from the public, including architects and residents of the area, through questionnaires and field interviews. The data were analyzed using SPSS software and statistical techniques. The results showed that social and psychological factors had the greatest impact on the sense of place. Additionally, the design of open and semi-open spaces, green areas, and spaces for social interactions such as parks, contribute to improving the sense of place. Finally, using SWOT analysis and design strategies, recommendations for improving the design of residential complexes in Zabol were provided. These findings could be useful in addressing design-related challenges and reducing social issues, such as unnecessary migration.
