Abstarct: With regard to the noticeable increase in people with disability, helping this disorders has become significant. Thus, architecture as an inseperable and effective segment of human beings has the duty to provide a suitable environment for people. Despite extensive research in the field of adaptation for people with disabilities, it has become challenging to accept the mixed findings and understand the multi-terms of adaptation in housing. The aim of the current research is to systematically review and categorize the existing literature and provide a conceptual frxamework for adapting housing for people with disabilities. The method of this research is qualitative, which uses the seven-step mextacomposition method of Sandelowski and Barso in order to systematically review the texts. In order to achieve this goal, all the researches available in three scientific databaxses, Google Scholar, ProQuest and ScienceDirect, with related keywords published between 2013 and 2023, have been investigated on the points of housing adaptation. Through systematic review, 32 articles were selected for final review. The results showed that in order to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, it is very important to pay attention to their characteristics and special needs in design. baxsed on the findings, it was determined that disabilities can be divided into three general categories: physical, mental-psychological, and sensory. Factors such as accessibility, sense control, comfort, safety, efficiency, spatial perception and reading, lighting and color were considered influential in designing and adapting housing for people with disabilities
