Abstarct: This This research examines the impact of information and communication technology usage on team effectiveness through the mediating role of social capital in work teams at Irancell Telecommunications Company in Tehran. The statistical population consisted of 2,936 employees of Irancell in Tehran, from which a sample of 339 individuals was selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that the use of information and communication technology has a significant positive impact on team effectiveness. Furthermore, these technologies strengthen social capital across its three dimensions. Structural social capital, through the establishment of coherent communication networks; cognitive social capital, through the development of shared language and goals; and relational social capital, through enhanced trust and positive interactions—all directly improve team effectiveness. The mediating role of social capital was fully confirmed, indicating that information and communication technology not only directly but also indirectly enhances team effectiveness by fostering social capital. These results were consistent across all technical, commercial, financial, and support teams at Irancell, highlighting the importance of integrated technological strategies alongside the strengthening of social capital for improving organizational team performance.
