Abstarct: In the field of construction and civil engineering projects, the processes of evaluating, ranking, and selecting contractors play a significant role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and reducing project risks. The use of modern evaluation techniques and models enables project managers and owners to make decisions with greater accuracy and confidence. This study focuses on 65 contracting companies in Golestan province in the field of health and uses a fuzzy intuitive interval multi-criteria decision-making approach to evaluate the competence of contractors. Indicators including financial health and financial resources, experience and ability to execute similar projects, quality and safety systems, project management and planning, legal obligations and professional sustainability, and other aspects of reporting transparency and social responsibilities were identified to enable a comprehensive and sustainable evaluation of contractors. The collected data was converted into fuzzy intuitive intervals, and the comparative score of each contractor was extracted, and their relative proximity to the ideal situation was calculated. baxsed on the alignment of the relative proximity indicators with the ideal situation, contractors who simultaneously achieved the highest level of proximity to the ideal situation in the three indicators were introduced as the top options for future steps (technical, financial, safety, and sustainability assessments).
