Abstarct: Internet of Things (IoT), as one of the new and transformative technologies, plays a significant role in improving efficiency, improving the quality of services, and accelerating the implementation of organizational processes. Despite the significant benefits of this technology, evidence shows that in Iran, especially in the government organizations sector, comprehensive and systematic research on identifying and ranking the barriers to its implementation has been limited. Accordingly, the present study was conducted with the aim of identifying and ranking the barriers to implementing the Internet of Things in government organizations in Iran. The case study of this research was the Gorgan School Renovation Organization. Due to the limitations in the research process and the diversity of choosing appropriate tools for the digitalization of organizations, the generalization of the results of this study faces some limitations. This research is applied in terms of purpose and its statistical population includes 13 managers of companies active in the field of information technology, as well as young professionals familiar with new technologies. In the descxriptive statistics section, indicators such as frequency, frequency percentage, and pie and column charts were used, and in the results analysis section, multi-criteria decision-making techniques and the best-worst fuzzy method were used using relevant analytical software. The model inconsistency index was calculated to be about 0.56, which is considered acceptable. The research findings indicate that the closeness of the final weights of the criteria indicates the high importance of all 14 barriers identified in the data analysis process. However, among the barriers examined, lack of governance and appropriate management ranked first as the most important barrier, while awareness raising for families had the least relative importance among the effective factors.
