Abstarct: Considering the capabilities of Islamic countries in having tourist attractions, especially religious attractions and the necessity of Hajj travel in Islam, the aim of this study was to estimate the demand for Hajj tourism in selected countries by using a panel data model and statistical data from 21 countries including: Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, USA and Yemen, between 2011 and 2019. For this reason, software Eviews 9 and Stata 16 have been used to estimate the model. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between Hajj tourism demand and the variables of total population and exchange rate and there is negative and significant relationship between distance and interest rates and Hajj tourism demand.Futher, there is no significant relationship between the demand for Hajj tourism and the variables of income, inflation, gender ratio of the population and the percentage of Muslims in the countries. Thus the assumption of a relationship between these variables and the demand for Hajj tourism has been rejected. The obtained results of research can help the policy makers of Hajj to good and strategic planning.
