Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate and present economic strategies to reduce water consumption in Shahroud University of Technology. The statistical population of this study is the water consumption of all faculties of Central Campus of Shahroud University of Technology as well as the Brothers Dormitory. In this study, the number of attendance and average water intake of students and faculty of each college and dormitory of brothers was obtained during one week, month and year. Types of water use have been identified in the university and, using field and laboratory data, the average consumption per person for each type of water use has been obtained. baxsed on the number of students and professors and the average water consumption in each ward, the water consumption of each college and dormitory of the brothers was calculated separately. The cost of water consumption is calculated in the above sections and an estimation of the amount of wastewater with the possibility of treatment and reuse is made, and then the cost of wastewater is calculated separately. In this study, by calculating and designing storage tanks and water purifiers separately for each faculty, as well as calculating the annual amount of water stored in the septic tank of each faculty and dormitory baxsed on the annual loss of each department and the numerical sum All of the above is the total amount of water recovered and stored in the university repositories per year; multiplying this by the unit price of water reduces the cost of consuming water per year. By comparing the cost and cost of purchasing, installing and using a septic tank with an average annual campus water cost and considering the useful life of these devices, it has been observed that using this technology for a cost-effective university There is a lot of economics involved.
