Abstarct: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of resistance training and nitric oxide supplementation on inactive male students using Ginseng in University of Shahrood. For this purpose, 50 male students with an average age of (19/02+ 2/03) years selected : Subjects were divided into four groups: 1. supplement and practice (n = 13), 2 placebo and exercise (n = 13), 3 supplementation (n = 12); 4. control group (n = 12). Ginseng herbal capsules (250 mg) were used as a supplement and the white flour filled capsules (250 mg) were used as a placebo for a period of six weeks with three days each week. The subjects were practiced according to a resistance training program that includes ten stations: 1. Knee flexion, 2. Knee extension, 3. Feet Press, 4. Scott 5. Underarm stretch 6. Chest press 7. Dumbbells cross movement 8. Front biceps 9. Back biceps and 10. Sit ups. Ginseng supplement were consumed one hour before the start of the practice by the control participants in order to measure nitric oxide. Their blood was examined10 hours before the first practice and 48 hours after the last practice of the subjects. The subjects were Body Mass Indexed in both blind as quasi-experimental study. The subjects were divided into four groups and data was analyzed according the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and ANOVA repeated (2 × 4), and the t Stevent dependent on the level of significance in %5. The results showed that, 6 weeks of resistance training with Ginseng supplement and without Ginseng has no significant increase in nitric oxide in those four groups. According to the results we can say that 6 weeks of resistance training and the use of Ginseng supplements have no effect on nitric oxide changes and more studies are needed to be done.
