Abstarct: tixtle: The Relationship Between Functional Movement Quality and Non-Contact Injury Risk in Basketball Plaxyers with Emphasis on the Moderating Role of Playing Position Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Functional Movement Screen (FMS) scores and the risk of non-contact injuries in basketball plaxyers, as well as to examine the moderating role of playing position in this relationship. This study was a descxriptive-correlational design, and 60 male basketball plaxyers were purposefully selected and categorized into guard, forward, and center positions. Data were collected using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and an injury risk assessment index. Statistical analyses were performed using Pearson correlation, one-way ANOVA, and hierarchical linear regression in SPSS version 26. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between FMS scores and non-contact injury risk (r = -0.641, p = 0.001), indicating that higher movement quality is associated with lower injury risk. Significant differences were also found among playing positions in terms of FMS scores and injury risk (p < 0.05). Guards demonstrated the highest FMS scores and the lowest injury risk, while centers showed the lowest FMS scores and the highest injury risk. Regression analysis indicated that playing position significantly moderates the relationship between FMS and injury risk, and the final model explained 53% of the variance in injury risk. Overall, the findings suggest that functional movement quality is an important predictor of non-contact injury risk in basketball plaxyers, and considering playing position can improve the accuracy of injury risk prediction.
