Abstarct: This study aimed to investigate the effect of coach-athlete intimacy and passion for sports on the subjective well-being of student athletes. The research method is a correlational study with a structural equation model approach in terms of its applied purpose, time, cross-sectional design, and data collection method. The statistical population consisted of junior and senior high school students in Anbar province, Iraq. 177 people were selected using convenience sampling. Three questionnaires were used to collect data: Sigmundsson et al.'s (2020) Enthusiasm, Ventura-Leon's (2023) Mental Well-Being, and Young and Jovitt's (2012) Coach-Athlete Intimacy. The research data were analyzed using the structural equation model and Smart PLS3 software. The results showed that passion for sports and intimacy with the coach have a positive and significant effect on the subjective well-being of student athletes (p<0.01). The findings emphasize the protective role of a close relationship with the coach and a normal type of enthusiasm in promoting athletes' well-being. Strengthening coaches' communication skills and paying attention to the quality of athletes' intrinsic motivation are suggested to maintain their mental health.
