Abstarct: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of re-injury anxiety on rumination among football plaxyers, with mindfulness as a moderating variable. The present study employed a descxriptive-correlational design and was cross-sectional in terms of time. The statistical population consisted of all male football plaxyers participating in the 2024 (1403) Student Sports Olympiad. The sample size was determined using the G*Power software. The research instruments included the Sports Injury Questionnaire by Fuller et al. (2006), the Rumination Questionnaire by Krohler et al. (2021), the Mindfulness Questionnaire by Thienot et al. (2014), and the Re-injury Anxiety Questionnaire by Cassidy (2006). Data were analyzed using SPSS 23 and SmartPLS 3.2.8 software. The findings indicated that re-injury anxiety had a significant positive effect on rumination among football plaxyers. Furthermore, mindfulness played a negative moderating role in the relationship between re-injury anxiety and rumination. baxsed on the results, it is recommended that coaches and physical education instructors implement mindfulness-baxsed interventions to reduce the impact of re-injury anxiety on rumination. Such interventions may include meditation techniques and breathing exercises, which can contribute to enhancing psychological well-being and improving athletic performance.
