Abstarct: This study aimed to investigate the effect of perfectionism on work addiction among physical education teachers, considering the moderating role of workload. The present research was descxriptive-correlational in nature and cross-sectional in time. The statistical population consisted of all athletic students in the first and second secondary education levels in Bojnourd city, of whom 217 were selected as the sample using convenience sampling. The research instruments included three standardized questionnaires: the Perfectionism Questionnaire by Stoeber and Rennert (2008), the Work Addiction Questionnaire by Topper et al. (2018), and the Workload Questionnaire by Abdulaziz et al. (2022). Structural equation modeling with a variance-baxsed approach was used to examine the research hypotheses. Data analysis was performed using SPSS23 and Smart-PLS 3.2.8 software. The results showed that perfectionism has a direct and significant effect on work addiction. Furthermore, in the relationship between perfectionism and work addiction, the variable of workload played a (negative) moderating role. baxsed on the findings, it can be concluded that although perfectionism acts as a risk factor for developing work addiction among physical education teachers, high workload can weaken this relationship. This may indicate that under conditions of extremely heavy workload, perfectionist teachers, faced with resource limitations and time pressure, are compelled to adjust their ideal standards and distance themselves from extreme work patterns. This finding emphasizes the necessity of simultaneously considering both individual (perfectionism) and organizational (workload) factors in programs aimed at preventing work addiction.
