GV378 : The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Employee's Productivity of Sports Organizations with The Mediating Role of Work Engagement

Abstarct: In today’s world, organizations and large companies place considerable emphasis on the training and empowerment of human resources, as such investments enhance competitiveness through capable and creative employees. Accordingly, the aim of the present study was to examine the effect of transformational leadership on employee productivity in the Sports Departments of Iraq, with job engagement serving as a mediating variable. This study adopted a descxriptive–correlational research design. The statistical population consisted of all employees working in the departments of sport in Al-Anbar Province, Iraq.
baxsed on Klein’s recommendation, a sample size of 211 participants was considered. Data collection instruments included the Transformational Leadership Questionnaire developed by Buil et al. (2019), the Employee Productivity Scale by Hersey and Goldsmith (1980), and the Job Engagement Questionnaire by Rabiul and Yean (2021). The validity of the questionnaires was assessed and confirmed by experts in sport management, while their reliability was verified in a pilot study using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient.
To test the research hypotheses, structural equation modeling with a variance-baxsed approach was employed, and data were analyzed using SPSS and PLS software. The results indicated that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on both employee productivity and job engagement in sports organizations. Furthermore, the mediating role of job engagement in the relationship between transformational leadership and employee productivity was confirmed.
baxsed on these findings, it is recommended that sports organizations strengthen transformational leadership skills—such as employee empowerment, constructive feedback, and individualized consideration—by providing specialized training programs and workshops for managers.
