Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of workplace incivility on job embeddedness and job engagement among physical education teachers in Semnan Province. This research is applied in terms of purpose, cross-sectional in terms of time, and descxriptive-correlational in terms of research design. The study was conducted in the field using questionnaires. The statistical population consisted of all physical education teachers in Semnan Province during the academic year 2024–2025. A convenience sampling method was used to select the participants. To determine the sample size, Klein’s (2012) recommendation was considered. According to Klein, samples between 200 and 300 are suitable for structural equation modeling; therefore, 200 questionnaires were collected and analyzed. To gather data, three questionnaires were used: the Workplace Incivility Scale by Cortina et al. (2001), the Job Embeddedness Scale by Karatepe (2018), and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) by Schaufeli et al. (2003). To test the research model and hypotheses, structural equation modeling with the partial least squares method was employed using SmartPLS version 3. The results showed that workplace incivility does not have a significant effect on job embeddedness. The effect of workplace incivility on job engagement among physical education teachers was negative and significant. Additionally, the effect of job engagement on job embeddedness was positive and significant. The mediating role of job engagement in the relationship between workplace incivility and job embeddedness was also confirmed. baxsed on the findings, relying solely on direct effects is not sufficient; mediating constructs can determine the outcomes of negative workplace experiences. Overall, creating a positive and motivating environment in which teachers experience pleasant and positive feelings can lead to improved psychological and performance-related outcomes in the workplace.
