GV352 : The effect of social responsibility on team identity with the mediating role of fans' pride

Abstarct: In today's world, sports has become a global and income-generating industry, and all over the world, professional clubs use various methods to provide their resources and expenses. One of the important methods in managing sports clubs and fans is the behavior of the spectators. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of social responsibility on team identity as a mediator of audience pride. According to the purpose, the current research method is considered to be applied research, and in terms of the method of data collection, it is descxriptive research and correlational design is structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this research included all the spectators of the Gorgan mayor basketball team. Considering that the exact statistical population of spectators in the series of games was not known, the available sampling method and the sample size was determined to be 273 people. Research tools in this study include; The personal information questionnaire was Chang et al.'s social responsibility questionnaire (2016), Chang et al.'s (2016) team identity questionnaire, and Chang et al.'s (2016) audience pride questionnaire. The collected raw data was analyzed using SPSS and PLS software. The results of the research showed that social responsibility with a path coefficient (0.42) and a significance value of 6.34 has a positive and significant effect on the pride of the Gorgan municipal basketball team spectators, as well as social responsibility with a path coefficient (0.43) and a significance value of 43. 8 has an effect on the pride of the spectators of the Gorgan municipal basketball team, while the pride of the spectators has a path coefficient (0.23) and a significant value of 3.43 on the team identity of the spectators of the municipal basketball team. Gorgan has an effect, and finally, the pride of the spectators with the path coefficient (0.103) and a significant value of 3.05 has a mediating role in the relationship between social responsibility and the team identity of the spectators of the Gorgan municipal basketball team. Therefore, it is suggested that the clubs that do not have a lot of spectators should try to get to know the spectators and their behavior and make a proper plan to attract and continue their presence.
