Abstarct: The effect of recreational experience on environmentally responsible behavior of sports tourists has been studied with the mediating role of attitude and motivation. The population studied was sports tourists in Kaboodwal Waterfall in 2014-2015, and 119 people were selected as the research sample using the available sampling method. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that included questionnaires on recreational experience (Lee and John, 2015), attitude (Lee and John, 2015), motivation (Keel et al., 2015), and environmentally responsible behavior (Tsang et al., 2015) with a five-option Likert scale. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires used were examined and approved. Finally, 150 questionnaires were distributed and 119 questionnaires could be analyzed. After completing the questionnaires, confirmatory factor analysis was used. The software used to analyze the data was SmartPLS and SPSS. The results of the present study showed that recreational experience has a positive and significant effect on the motivation of sports tourists, tourist attitudes on environmentally responsible behavior, tourist motivation on environmentally responsible behavior, recreational experience on environmentally responsible behavior, and as long as people act more responsibly towards the environment and reduce environmental damage and destruction, and with the mediation of environmental attitudes and motivation in the effect between recreational experience on environmentally responsible behavior, there is a direct, positive and significant effect.
