Abstarct: The purpuse of the study was the effect of ethical leadership on worke engagement of physical education teachers with mediating role of organizational virtue. The present syudy was descxriptive_corralational and time_crosssectional. The statistical population of this research was the physical education teachers of Mashhad. Using available sampling, 200 people were selected as samples. The research tools were 3 standard questionnaires of organizational virtue by Cameron et al(2004), work engagement by Shoufeli et al (2006) and ethical leadership by Brown et al(2005). The validity of this questionnaire was checked and confirmed by a number of experts and professors of sports management. In order to determine the reliability of the questionnaires, a preliminary study was conducted among physical education teachers in Mashhad and the results of Cronbach's alpha showed that the questionnaires have acceptable reliability. The structural equation method was used to check the research hypotheses. In this research, SPSS version 25 and SmartPLS 4 software were used. The results of the research show that ethical leadership has a positive effect on teachers' work engagement. In addition, this type of leadership significantly enhances organizational virtue, which in turn has a positive relationship with work engagement satisfaction. Also, the findings indicate that organizational virtue acts as a mediator between ethical leadership and work engagement. Therefore, managers should pay special attention to ethical leadership style and try to strengthen the motivation and enthusiasm of employees by creating a virtue-oriented atmosphere. These actions not only lead to the increase of teachers' job enthusiasm, but also increase the overall productivity of the organization.
