GV324 : The effect of proactive personality on innovative work behaviors physical education teachers with the mediating role of Work Engagement

Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of proactive personality on the innovative work behaviors of physical education teachers with the mediating role of the work engagement. According to the purpose, the current research is of applied research type and in terms of data collection method, it is descxriptive research type and correlation designs are of structural equation model type. Also, the current research is cross-sectional in terms of time. The statistical population of this research included all physical education teachers of Semnan province in the academic year 2023-2024 with is 258. The sample size was 146 people using JPower software; Also, available sampling method was used to select the sample. The sample size was 106 people using JPower software; Also, available sampling method was used to select the sample. In this research, the 5-question questionnaire of Beitman and Krant (1993) was used to measure proactive personality, the 9-question innovative behavior questionnaire of Jansen (2000) was used to measure innovative work behaviors, and the 9-question questionnaire of Robiol-Wine's work engagement (2021) was used to measure job enthusiasm. was used The validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by 7 experts, and Cronbach's alpha test was used to check the reliability of the questionnaires, and the results showed that all the questionnaires had the necessary reliability. ata analysis was done in two sections, descxriptive statistics and inferential statistics using SPSS and PLS software. The findings showed that the active personality has an effect on teachers' innovative behaviors both directly and through the mediating variable of the work engagement. Also, teachers' with the mediating role of work engagement has a positive and significant effect on teachers' innovative behaviors. Therefore, by clarifying the importance of proactive personality on the increase of innovative behaviors of physical education teachers, it can be stated that the observance of ethical models by administrators in the school environment can provide a suitable platform for increasing work engegement and innovative behaviors of teachers.
