GV318 : The effect of social media sharing on intention to visit adventure tourism destinations with the mediating role of awareness and electronic reputation

Over time, competition in tourism destinations has increased and with the advancement of communication technologies, the Internet and social networks have become an essential and inseparable part of people's daily lives in the last century. Focusing on adventure sports tourism destinations, the current research has investigated the sharing of social media on the intention to visit, awareness and electronic popularity of these destinations among tourists. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descxriptive-analytical. The statistical population was made up of tourists who visited the adventure destination of Duplan in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in 1402 and 1403. 300 people were selected as a sample using available sampling method. To collect data from four questionnaires including social media by Dedi-oglu et al. (2020), desire to visit Mionavaro et al. (2021), destination awareness questionnaire by Dedi-oglu et al. (2020) and electronic reputation questionnaire by Dotot and Castellano (2015) was used. Structural equation model and PLS3 software were used to analyze the research data. The results of the research showed that social media sharing has a direct and significant effect on revisit intention, destination awareness and electronic reputation. Awareness of the destination and electronic reputation do not have a significant effect on the intention to revisit. Social media sharing does not have a significant effect on revisit intention with the mediating role of awareness and electronic reputation.
