Abstarct: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of progressive endurance training for 6 weeks and ginger supplementation intake on lipid peroxidation and cellular damage indices in sedentry male student. Research was quasi-experimental and was done in double blind design. Twenty student subjects from the Shahrood University vouluntry participated in this study and randomly divided to two groups (supplemental groups (N=10) and placebo groups (N=10)). Then both groups were consumed ginger supplements or placebo and they have done progressive endurance training for 6 weeks. During the experimental priod, the supplement group take 2 capsuls in cluded 500 mg ginger and control group intake 2 placebo capsuls contion strach (one after breakfast and one after dinner). Before and after exercise training for measurment of lipid peroxidation indicates (MDA) and cell damage (LDH, CK), blood samples was collected from the left arm Brachial vessels of left arm of each subjects. Data was analyzed with Kolmogrov–Smirnov and repeated measure (2×2) test (P≤0/05). A significant increase in the enzyme activity of LDH, CK and MDA in both placebo and supplement groups was observed after 6 weeks of progressive endurance training. Ginger supplements also have significant effect on LDH factor (P≤0/05). These results indicate that 6 weeks of taking ginger supplements can be effective, inhibition of cellular damage induced by progressive endurance training. However, further studies to determine the beneficial effects of ginger supplementation during different periods of the non-pharmacological intervention to cellular damage damage is required.
