GV28 : The investigation teachers’ sens of efficacy and job stress ( case study golestan province)

Abstarct: Many studies have reported, teacher stress as an intricate problem that affected by various stressors. Also, some studies have shown that efficient people when facing to problems, finds logical and realistic solutions; and select proper goals. The purpose of this study was to investigation the relations between teachers’ sense of efficacy and job stress in the physical education teachers of Golestan province. The method which was applied in this research was descxriptive-correlation. In this study randomly selected 250 subjects from the whole Population of physical education teachers in Golestan during 2012-2013 year via cluster random sampling procedure. For data collection utilized researcher- made scale for “Physical Education Teacher Sense of Efficacy” and Physical Education Teacher job stress questionnaire (Golabi, 2001). This scales checked with content and face validity and confirmed by expert panel. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was used to test the reliability of the Physical Education Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale (α = 0.910) and Physical Education Teacher job stress questionnaire (α = 0.950). Also to determine the structural validity of the questionnaires, Confirmatory factor Analysis were applied. For data analysis, used descxriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (spearman’s correlation coefficients, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H).The results show that: job stress have a negatively significant relationship with Teacher Sense of Efficacy (r = -0.185 , p = 0.003). Also there has been found a significant difference between the grade of school,teachers experience, employment type and average of teachers' sense of efficacy(α≤0.05). Also results show significant difference on age, gender and experience of teacher ' job stress. According research findings, planning a teacher self-efficacy program can help to stress management(α≤0.05). In regard to the negative relationship between sense of efficacy and job stress of physical education teachers, authorities with investigation on promoting of teacher efficacy can control and reduce their job stress.
