GV235 : Investigating the role of spiritual well-being and coping skills in the quality of work life of football referees in Fars province

Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of spiritual well-being and coping skills in the quality of work life of football referees in Fars province. The method of the present study was correlational and cross-sectional in terms of descxriptive nature. The population of the study was all official football referees of Fars province (N = 160) from which the sample was selected (n = 140). Data were collected using three questionnaires including of coping skills of Smith et al. (1995), quality of work life of Ilgan et al. (2014) and spiritual well-being of Golparvar, Darayee and Khayatan (2014). Questionnaires were distributed electronically. To test the research hypotheses, structural equation modeling with variance-baxsed approach Smart-PLS 3.2.8 and SPSS23 software were used. The results showed that coping skills directly and positively have a significant effect on the quality of work life of judges and explain 44.1% of changes in quality of work life. Spiritual well-being has a direct and positive effect on the quality of work life explains 61.3% of changes in the quality of work life. Spiritual well-being has a direct and positive effect on referees' coping skills and explains 59% of the changes in coping skills. This study also showed that spiritual well-being has a significant effect on the quality of work life of football referees in Fars province due to coping skills. Spiritual well-being as well as coping skills are important and complementary factors in creating and improving the quality of work life of football referees in Fars province. It can be concluded that in order to improve the quality of work life of football referees, issues such as conducting workshops, improving the quality of spiritual life, familiarity with coping strategies for difficult working conditions should be considered and the referees should be empowered in this regard.
