Abstarct: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 3 weeks of aerobic exercise with a high protein diet on the withdrawal process of addicted men. The present study is a quasi-experimental study with a design of 3 experimental groups and a control group. The statistical population of the study included all addicted men who referred to addiction treatment centers and did not participate in regular sports activities. Using the available and purposeful sampling method, 32 people were selected from among the addicted people who were the same in terms of age, type of substance and their amount of consumption, which was randomly divided into four groups: 1- Aerobic exercises, 2- The aerobic exercise group was placed on a high-protein diet, the 3- high-protein diet group and 4- the control group. The research instruments were pain intensity questionnaire and Van Korf et al (1992) chronic pain questionnaire. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance and Tukey post hoc test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the effect of three weeks of aerobic exercise, aerobic exercise with high protein diet and high protein diet alone on pain intensity, pain stability and pain disability among men with addiction. The results also showed that the high-protein diet group had a greater effect on pain intensity and pain inability of subjects than other groups and had a greater effect on the variability of pain stability and stability of the aerobic exercise group with a high-protein diet than other groups. Therefore, it can be said that aerobic exercise combined with a high-protein diet has been effective in the process of men quitting addiction, and these exercises and diet can be used as a treatment for men to quit addiction.
