Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of negative air ions on pulmonary ventilation responses in active students. This research is a double-blind cross-sectional design study. The statistical sample of this study was girls and boys with average age (22.67 ± 0.61 years) and mean body mass index (21.59 ± 0.84 kg / m2). In order to implement the split plot, the subjects were randomly divided into two groups of ion and without ions, each of which consisted of 20 people including 10 girls and 10 boys. The subjects performed the Bruce test in two groups of ion and without ion, and again with a one-week interval (to clear the ion), the test again was repeated, while the environmental conditions of the two groups were reversed. In the intervention group, ion intervention was performed before and after the isolation room and after the Bruce spirometry test. In the non-ion group, spirometry was performed before and after the test. T-test was used for the indices that had normal distribution and non-parametric Wilcoxon test was used for non-parametric tests to assess the difference between groups. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, exposure to negative air ions improves the functional parameters of the lung
