GV139 : The Impact Of the Host City Image On The Revisit Of Athletes With The Mediating Role Of Satisfacation With Sporting Events

Abstarct: This research was aimed at influencing the host city image on the re-visit of athletes with the mediating role of satisfaction from the sporting event. The research method was descxriptive correlation that was done in the field. The statistical population of the study was male athletes participating in the ۱۴th Cultural-Sporting Olympiad in Shiraz (۲۲۷۰), which distributed ۳۰۸ questionnaires among them, and finally ۲۶۱ questionnaires were used and analyzed. In this study, three questionnaires were used a modified image questionnaire (Bayon et al. ۲۰۰۹) with sub-scale of infrastructure, attractiveness, costs, emotions, ۱۸ questions, and athletes' satisfaction questionnaire from the event (Wafi, Chiu and Kayat, ۲۰۱۷) with ۹ questions and the intention to revisit Bayon et al. ۲۰۰۹ with ۳ questions. Ten sports management specialists and a professor of guidance on face and content validity commented that they were approved after the reforms. Also, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to confirm the reliability of the questionnaires and confirmatory factor analysis for construct validity was used. The findings of the research showed that the image of the host city had an effect on the intention to revisit ۰.۴۰ and to affect the satisfaction of the event ۰.۸۲. Also, the satisfaction of the event had an effect of ۰.۵۷ on returnees. On the other hand, ۱۶% of the changes to revisit intention were explained using the host city image and explained ۶۷% of the variation of satisfaction with the event using the host city image. Finally, ۳۲% of the change intended to revisit is the satisfaction of the event. Therefore, it can be stated that the satisfaction of the event in the ۱۴th student sport Olympiad in Shiraz had a ۹۵% confidence level on the intention of revisiting. It is concluded that urban managers can use sports hosts such as student sporting Olympiads, student sports events and national and international sporting events to strengthen tourism and strengthen brand and image of the city.
