Abstarct: In order to design and set up a mextal extraction system by the method of hydromextallurgy, and performing a high quality leaching process, a comprehensive study and finding optimized parameters are essential. Chahmoosa copper mine is rich of copper oxide fines, which the copper could not be extracted by heap leaching processing method. Hence, in this thesis, the agitation leaching processing methods are evaluated for extraction of copper fines. In this research, the effect of factors such as particle size, acid concentration, solid percentage, time and agitation speed on copper recovery and iron concentration are investigated by designing the laboratory tests. For this reason, firstly, identification studies on samples have been executed and then agitation leaching and bottle roll test have been carried out in order to determine the copper recovery and amount of using acid during the process. The effective factors have been selected by Taguchi method and L16 orthogonal array. Then, Design Expert software was employed to design and analysis of the test for assessing the selected factors. The results showed that particle size, acid concentration and solid percentage have the most effect, and agitation speed has the least effect on copper recovery and iron concentration. At last, acid concentration of 120 g/l, duration of 4 hours, solid percentage of 30 and agitation speed of 480 rpm have been introduced as optimized conditions for 88 micron particle sizes. The Copper recovery has reached to 95.6 percent at the end as well. Finally, confirmation test was carried out under optimized conditions in order to validate the results. The test results showed that copper recovery for this test is 94.9 percent. The results obtained from bottle roll test showed that the amount of acid utilized for copper fines of Chahmoosa mine is 130.3 Kg/t, and the recovery is 94.5 percent
