In this research, a new type of magnetic Ion Imprinted(template) Polymers, selective for lead ion, using 〖Fe〗_3 O_4@〖SiO〗_2-〖NH〗_2 functionalized magnetic particles as a substrate, sodium rhodisonate as a ligand, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) as a functional monomer, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate (SFS) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-lixnkker and tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as an initiator were synthesized.Synthesized Ion Imprinted Polymer was leached by nitric acid as the target ion washing solution. The chemical structure, morphology, thermal and magnetic behavior of the synthesized polymer were investigated using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). Optimization of the effective parameters on species absorption, including the amount of adsorbent, pH of the environment, time and initial concentration, was done using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The obtained results showed that the synthesized magnetic Ion Imprinted Polymer has a higher absorption capacity (192.308 mg/ g) than the nonimprinted ion magnetic polymer (107.527 mg/ g). Also, the adsorption kinetics of the imprinted polymer and non-imprinted ion magnetic polymer followed pseudo-second order kinetics. Synthesized Ion Imprinted Polymer has the maximum selectivity towards lead and was successfully used to remove and identify this pollutant.
