Abstarct: The purpose of this research was to investigate the feasibility of lead recovery from the leaching residue obtained from zinc production plant of Deligan Mahsan. For achieving this goal, firstly, the behavior of operation important parameters including sodium chloride salt concentration, HCl acid concentration, pulp stirring speed, solid percentage, leaching time was studied on the leaching recovery of lead. The results showed that sodium chloride concentration and solid percent had the most influence and stirring speed had the least effect on the efficiency of leaching process. Then process optimization was performed using the desirability function and the optimum conditions were obtained HCl concentration 2 M, sodium chloride concentration 350 g/L, solid percentage 10, stirring speed 300 rpm and leaching time 90 min. Under these conditions, lead recovery was about 75.72%. in the next step, the dissolution kinetics was investigated to get a better understanding of the leaching process behavior according to the shrinking core models such as the diffusion through the fluid film, the diffusion through the product laxyer, the surface chemical reaction. The results demonstrated that the diffusion model through the product laxyer with activation energy of 16.68 KJ/mol was the leaching kinetics rate controlling step.
