Abstarct: Abstract Most of the mineral processing methods are done by wet method due to higher efficiency than dry method. In most cases, the pulp obtained from the tailings has a high dilution, which should be reduced moisture by separating the solid from the liquid (water) using standard methods. It should be noted that the maximum amount of water used in mineral processing plants is removed from the circuit along with taillings. Therefore, in order to store the tailings and prevent the pollution of the environment, as well as to recover the maximum amount of water for its reuse, it is necessary to dewater from the tailings. The aim of this research is to evaluate the dewatering process by different and common methods from the spiral tailings of Gol-e-gohar hematite plant and to investigate a number of influencing factors such as cloth type, pressure, solid percentage and thickness. In this regard, filtration tests were performed one-stage on the sample with overall granulation and one stage on the sample with dimensional separation. The most optimal results related to vacuum filtration using a Büchner funnel by feeding from above on the sample with overall granulation under conditions of negative pressure of 60 kPa, thickness of 10 mm, with M10 cloth in 28% solid percentage, with 19.12% moisture and 0.4 (t/(m^2*h)) throughput, and also in 50% solid percentage, with 16.1% moisture and 0.54 (t/(m^2*h)) throughput was obtained. In addition, in the case of dimensional separation of tailings, the most optimal results were related to the separation limit of 150 microns, in this case, the fine grained part using pressure filtration without considering the technical times reached the 16.3% moisture and 0.604 (t/(m^2*h)) throughput and the coarse-grained part with vacuum filtration reached the 7.6% moisture and 1.38 (t/(m^2*h)) throughput.
