Abstarct: Nowadays, dynamic studies of power systems are of great importance regarding to reliability evaluation in transient conditions. So, it is important to describe the power system elements by dynamic models. Synchronous generator is the most important elements of every power system which has an extended dynamic operating range. Two axes baxsed modeling is the basic dynamic modeling of synchronous machines. Accuracy of every model depends on exact identification of synchronous machine dynamic parameters. In recent decades, identification methods of dynamic parameters were developed greatly. These methods always have been with difficult and expensive test on synchronous machines, either with approximations rising from test instrumentals. So, the researchers always work on decreasing the inaccuracy and cost of test to reach to more precise and cheaper results. In this thesis, the most important synchronous machines dynamic parameters identification approaches were investigated and some new algorithms were proposed to obtain the results more exactly. The desired test results were obtained with no approximation or extra cost by simulation an exact model of synchronous generator via MATLAB/Simulixnk. This model is baxsed on space dependent harmonic inductances which have achieved from finite elements baxsed synchronous machines analysis. This model presents a very actual like behavior.
