Abstarct: The importance of using lubricants in machining processes to produce high-quality components, reduce cutting forces, and extend tool life is well-established. Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) is a recent and promising lubrication optimization technique that is gaining significant attention due to its numerous advantages. This research aimed to design and construct a cost-effective, high-quality, and efficient MQL system using locally available resources, detailing the fabrication process. To determine optimal MQL parameters, a series of experiments were conducted. Initial tests were performed on ST37 steel using a conventional lathe. Subsequent tests were carried out on a CNC lathe and Inconel 939 superalloy workpieces. Additionally, experiments were conducted on a magnetic grinder using ST37 steel and Inconel 939 components. In these experiments, vegetable-baxsed castor oil and water-soluble industrial oil (water-soap solution) were used as lubricants. Dry machining, MQL machining, and continuous fluid jet machining methods were compared. The primary MQL parameters, including fluid flow rate, air pressure, and nozzle distance, were evaluated at three different levels. Analysis of the results revealed that, in most cases, MQL machining with castor oil produced the best surface finish, followed by MQL machining with water-soap solution, continuous fluid jet machining, and dry machining. The optimal MQL parameters were determined to be a fluid flow rate of 5 ml/min, air pressure of 4 bar, and nozzle distance of 4 cm for turning and 8 cm for grinding .
