Abstarct: The present study was conducted to investigate the amount of exergy destruction, fresh water production and the environmental effects of two desalination systems using solar energy and the intermediate organic Rankine cycle. the modeling consists of two plans, in the first plan, the combination of multi-stage distillation and reverse osmosis water desalination plants with the solar parabolic collector by the aim of checking the amount of exergy destruction of the proposed system components and determining the amount of fresh water production according to the design parameters.in the second plan, two desalination systems, reverse osmosis and recycling reverse osmosis, have been compared to find the lowest cost of fresh water production and reduce the environmental effects of wastewater using tow objective optimization.in both designs, the power generation system is an organic Rankine cycle.in the first plan, the relationships were coded and solved using the engineering equation solver(EES) software, and in the second plan, the optimal outputs were extracted and presented with the MATLAB software. the results of the first plan show that among the organic fluids used in the organic Rankine cycle, toluene, n-decane, n-nonane and n-octane respectively have the highest net production capacity, the highest amount of fresh water produced and the lowest amount of exergy destruction. the exergy destruction of the system components shows that the solar collector as the heat source of the system will have the highest exergy destruction rate (65%) and in a volumetric flow rate of 660 cubic meters per hour for the fluid passing through the solar collector, we will have the highest output power of the cycle.in the optimal state of the comparison of the two systems presented in the second design, from the point of view of the environmental impact index for the reverse osmosis and recycling reverse osmosis models, dimensionless values of 0.193 and 0.137 were extracted, respectively, and for the price of the produced fresh water, respectively for the reverse osmosis and recycling reverse osmosis systems, the values of 3.58 and 3.22 dollars were extracted per cubic meter of fresh water produced. finally, the results are presented for the best design point in two optimal systems. the new aspects of the present research can be summarized as follows: a) modeling of the combined system of multi-stage and reverse osmosis desalination plants using the organic Rankine cycle with solar energy drive from the point of view of exergy destruction of the system components b) Comparison of two structure of osmotic desalination water and their optimization baxsed on economic functions and environmental effects c) Finding the optimal design parameters of reverse osmosis and recycling reverse osmosis system with the help of genetic algorithm
