Abstarct: Humidification-dehumidification process is one of the most prominent small-scale desalination processes. The purpose of this study is to investigate and thermodynamically analyze a humidifier-dehumidifier desalination system with thermal energy recovery. The system consists of an integrated set of evaporator-condenser and air blower. This integration of evaporator and condenser has made the system work at low pressure and temperature, which has increased efficiency while reducing energy consumption. Unlike most similar systems, which require a cold and constant heat source to condense the water vapor or humid air leaving the evaporator, this system does not require this and the cold and constant heat source is removed, which also reduces Energy dissipation and better energy recovery and thus improve the efficiency of the system. To conduct this research, first the thermodynamic equations governing each part of this cycle are written, then by solving the equations, the system performance and the effect of effective parameters such as inlet saline temperature and double pressure difference of air blower on the amount of fresh water produced, GOR The system, the electrical energy consumed as well as the recovery ratio of the system are examined. The results show that by changing the pressure difference between the two ends of the air blower from 15 kPa to 22 kPa, the fresh water produced increases from 17.5 kg / h to 23.75 kg / h and also the GOR system from 7.94 to 7.48 and The recovery ratio of the system, which indicates the amount of fresh water produced on the amount of incoming saline water, will increase from 7.5% to 12.6%. Finally, with changes in the system structure and the addition of another integrated evaporator-condenser and an external heat source, the results of these changes with the original system are reviewed and compared.
