Abstarct: In the new edition of the regulations, including the code for seismic evaluation and retrofitting of ASCE 41, the phenomenon of nonlinear shearing effort of the shear wall has been proposed. The results of researchers' studies and the provisions of different seismic regulations show that if only the flexural action becomes nonlinear and the shear action remains linear, the compressive concrete of the wall will crack in bending and the longitudinal reinforcements of the wall will reach the yield limit. Nonlinear modeling of wall shear stress baxsed on ASCE 41-23 regulation shows that the bearing capacity of the wall decreases. Also, the laboratory results and nonlinear analyzes show that the shear walls with rectangular cross section designed according to ACI 318-19 may have flexural-shear failure mode and do not provide the ductility of the design assumption. To investigate the effect of nonlinear wall shear stress modeling compared to linear, four structures with 3, 5, 10, and 35 floors and reinforced concrete core frxame system, in an area with high relative risk and type 3 soil, were designed. These designs were baxsed on Iran Standard 2800 4th edition and ACI 318-19, using the spectral dynamic method. These structures were then subjected to nonlinear dynamic analysis according to TBI 2017 guidelines in ETABS-V21 software for two wall shear modes: linear and nonlinear. The acceptance criteria were controlled at the CP performance level. The results of this research showed that in the 35-story structure, the values of drifts, chord rotation, DCR, baxse shear, and strain gauge in the case where the wall shear modeling was done in a nonlinear way, compared to the linear case, showed a decrease, decrease, increase, no change, and increased, and in other structures, no significant difference was observed in the results of the two modeling modes.
