Nowadays, with the expansion of cities and the population of regions, the problems caused by the increase in population and population density on the one hand and the need to expand traffic services on the other hand, have made us think about using underground spaces. Excavation in the baxsement releases the tensions in the soil and the surrounding soil and rock masses move into the tunnel and cause subsidence. In this sense, one of the most common methods used in tunnel excavation in recent decades is the new Austrian tunneling method. One of the main goals when building tunnels in urban areas is to minimize ground settlement and keep it under control. The aim of this project is the impact of leading beams on ground level settlement in shallow urban tunnels, which is determined by using numerical modeling of Ostad Moein tunnel. Tehran has been investigated by the Austrian tunneling method using Plaxis3D software, also the pre-retainer of the leading beam has been used to prevent the settlement of the tunnel crown, and the performance of the leading beams in the settlement of the ground surface as well as the amount of anchorage and axial forces have been investigated. The results of the present research showed that the presence of leading beams will decrease the settlement by 21% and also by using 12 models made in Plexis software, this conclusion can be reached, if the leading beam with concrete compressive strength of 70 MPa and an area of 1.20 square meters with If 8 meters and 10 meters long tunnels are used over the tunnel, the impact of the leading beams will be greater and the settlement of the ground will be less.
Finally, if an approximate (manual) method is used for the design of the leading beam, the amount of anchor calculated using the manual method should be reduced by at least 25% to make the design more economical and reasonable.
