Abstarct: The knowledge of travel demand is an essential prerequisite for analyzing and planning the transportation supply. Origin-Destination (OD) matrix, as a fundamental element of transportation planning in the demand side, can be estimated in different ways.Estimating OD matrices from traffic counts, due to less costs and the ability to keep matrices up to date, are increasingly gaining interest This thesis discusses the origin-destination matrix estimation using classical methods and statistical deals. In the analysis of transportation issues, information on travel demand by origin-destination matrix, or matrix traveling show that this matrix to analyze transportation and traffic control management is an important issue. Origin-destination matrix contains information about traffic or transportation of passengers and goods between the different parts of the area. This matrix shows the volume of demand for travel between different locations and can contribute significantly to the decision-makers and transport planners, development and management of transport. A variety of methods to estimate the origin-destination matrix of maximum entropy, maximum likelihood, least squares and minimum information that any of the methods were described in this study and at the end compare matrix estimation methods and best method will present.
