Abstarct: Flood is one of the most important hydrological variables for river basin and river analysis. Correct prediction and estimation of floods will play a very important role in flood management. In addition, the correct estimation of flood can play a very important role in the design of water structures such as culverts, designing of flood transfer channel, watershed operation, soil protection, river management, flood distribution system design, etc. One of the methods of flood estimation in basins without statistics is the use of empirical methods such as empirical relationships (Diken, Fuller, special flood, Francou- Rodier). In these methods, the flood discharge of watersheds is estimated using physiographic characteristics. In this research, the statistics and information of some rivers of Semnan province including the river Tash Sofla, Farahzad, Abarsaj, Mojn and Cheshme Ali Damghan were used. The flood discharge of the mentioned rivers was calculated using the empirical method and statistical method, and the accuracy of the empirical methods was investigated. The obtained results show that the best empirical relationship for Tash- Sofla, Farahzad, Majen-Darahi-Band Enherafi, Mojen-Dastan/Abshar, Abarsaj and Cheshme Ali Damghan, were the methods Fuller, Deacon, Deacon, special flood, Francou- Rodier, respectively. Also, the relative error value of experimental methods for the mentioned rivers was 35.63, 3.71, 14.83, 10.63, 60.16, 20.19%. According to the results of this research, it is possible to use empirical methods with relatively appropriate accuracy in the estimation of basin floods.
