Abstarct: Onion is one of the important vegetable and summer crops in the western Kalate region of Shahrood city, and onion thrips is one of the key and important pests of this crop. This research was carried out in the crop year of 1399-1400 in one of the onion farms in the western Kalathai region of Shahrood with the aim of achieving a suitable and safe method for non-chemical control by installing colored sticky traps and reducing the consumption of chemical poisons and changes in the population of onion thrips and the effect of climatic factors on it were carried out. In the first step, the effectiveness of colored sticky traps in blue, yellow and white in two shapes, square and circle, at four heights of 35, 50, 70 and 100 cm from the ground was investigated, and then in another part of the research, yellow traps at 50 cm from the ground surface were installed in the four main geographical directions of north, south, east and west in order to investigate the effect of installing traps in different geographical directions Also, in order to investigate the changes in the insect population, standard size blue traps were installed at a height of 35 cm from the ground, and using meteorological data, the effect of climatic factors such as temperature, humidity, precipitation and wind speed on the changes in the insect population was investigated. All traps were changed weekly and taken to the laboratory for counting. Data analysis was done using SAS software. The results of the research showed that in the case of the height trait, the average absorption of immature and mature insects and the total of immature and adult insects was significant at the probability level of one percent, but in the case of color and shape traits, the average absorption for immature insects was not significant, but in the case of insects Mature and the sum of immature and mature have been significant at the one percent probability level. In the investigation of the mutual effects of color and shape and the height of the trap, the results showed that the white circular traps with a height of 50 cm from the ground are the most efficient in attracting the total number of immature and mature onion thrips insects and then after that White circle traps with a height of 35 and white squares with a height of 50 were in second place. The lowest amount of absorption was observed in blue square traps at a height of 100 cm. The average absorption in the traps installed in four geographical directions for immature and adult insects and their sum was significant at the probability level of 1%, so that the highest absorption rate was in the traps installed towards the north and the lowest absorption rate in the traps It was observed that they were installed towards the south (the prevailing wind direction in the region was northeast). In the study of population changes and the effects of climatic factors, it was concluded that the highest population of onion thrips in the western Kalate region of Shahrood city was in the months of July and August, and the factors of temperature and wind speed had a positive correlation with the amount of the insect population. The percentage of air humidity has a negative correlation with the amount of insect population. Therefore, the decrease in air humidity to 37% and less than that and rain has caused a decrease in the insect population, and as the temperature has increased to 32 degrees and the wind speed has increased, the insect population has increased.
