Abstarct: This study examined the effects of seed priming and integrated weed management on growth and yield of maize in a randomized complete block design with four replications at the research field of Shahrood University of Technology in 2013. Treatments include: a: weeding all season, b: no weeding all season, c: herbicides recommended dose (nicosulfuron 2 l.ha-1) in the 3 to 4 leaf stage of corn, d: hydro priming + reduced herbicide dose(nicosulfuron 1 l.ha-1 ) in 3 to 4 leaf stage of corn, e: hydro priming + weeding 6 weeks after crop emergence, f: hydro-priming , g: hydro-priming + priming with salicylic-acid + reduced herbicide (nicosulfuron 1 l.ha-1), h: priming with salicylic acid, i: priming with salicylic acid + weeding 6 weeks after emergence, j: priming with salicylic-acid + reduced herbicides, k: hydro- priming + priming with salicylic-acid + weeding 6 weeks after emergence. The results showed that priming with salicylic acid and hydro-priming in combined with reduced herbicide dose or weeding significantly increased chlorophyll content, number of kernels per row, number of seed rows and biological yield of corn compared to non-weeding treatment. The use of hydro-priming and priming with salicylic acid along with the reduced dose of herbicides or weeding, significantly reduced weed density and dry weight of weeds compared to non-weeding. The results showed that grain yield increased 52.9 percent in weeding comparing to non-weeding treatment. baxsed on our results, the use of priming with salicylic acid and hydro-priming combined with the other weed management methods increased corn competitiveness against weeds through improving crop growth, and also reduced consumption of herbicide while significantly increased the performance of corn.
