Abstarct: In this research, the rate of faults's activity and seismocity in the Qom area -up to 150 km away from the city center- have been evaluated. The map of the active faults of the area have been prepared by using geological map (1:100000), satellite images and previous local studies. Tectonic regime of the region is characterized by compressional system which include a shear element and the majority of the faults have general trend in the direction of northwest- southeast, some of them are in an east-west direction or have northwest- southwest trend. Faults parallel to the Zagross trend have reverse dextral mechanism. The field studies, which were carried out on some faults have shown that the surfaces of exposed faults are mostly yonge and fault surface exposures are clearly evident. All fault's neotectonic indicators such as fault scarp, displaced drainage line, fan morphology, shutterridges, recognition of fault track on satellite photo, asymmetric drainage basin, V-shaped valley and dissected features all prove that local major faults are yonge and active. Some of the active faults that their activity will directly influence Qom seismicity; these have been segmented in this research and the resulting earthquake magnitude have been determined. Also, according to the available seismic data for local faults such as historical and instrumental earthquake and neotectonic evidences, fault's activity have been calibrated. Qom- Zefreh, Kushk-e-Nosrat, Ipak, North Tehran Thrust, North Eshtehard Thrust, Garmsar, Indes, Mehrabad, Bid-e-hand, Meim-Qeh, Kahrizak, north Rey, South Rey are identified as doubtlessly active fault.
