Abstarct: The Qaderabad-Madarsoleyman aquifer, with an approximate area of 107.5 km2, is situated approximately 145 km northeast of Shiraz city, which predominantly utilized for agricultural purposes through 652 water wells. The main objectives of this research are to investigate and evaluate the hydrogeological characteristics and groundwater recharge value to the aquifer. The general groundwater flow direction is from the north to the southern parts of the aquifer, with higher hydraulic gradients in the northern section. The investigation of the 19-year water level data showed that it fluctuates between 7 to 46 meters in the aquifer. The maximum and minimum depth to the groundwater level is about 71 meters in the northern part, and 13 meters in the southwestern part of the aquifer, respectively. The unite hydrograph of the aquifer showed that the reservoir has an average deficit of 6 MCM annually, and the groundwater level in it decreases by an average of 1.12 meters annually. To calculate the groundwater recharge rate to the aquifer, three methods of water level fluctuations, water balance and chlorine mass balance were used. The groundwater recharge value on average was calculated to be 30 MCM, according to the special yield of about 5%. The groundwater recharge value baxsed on the the water balance method was estimated to be about 36 MCM per year. The hydrogeochemical investigations of Qaderabad-Madersoleyman aquifer showed that in the northern parts of the aquifer, the EC value is higher and around 1300 micromohs/cm, and in the southern and western parts, the EC value of the water decreases.
