Abstarct: The study area, is a desert with arid climate. It is located in Semnan province at 110 km to the south of Damghan. Due to limited water resources and also flood occurring each year in the region, this research is aimed to flood quantitative and qualitative investigations. Also, according to field studies and satellite imagery, the study area devided to three catchment basins, namely Tange, Zereshki and Niak basins. In present study in order to evaluate and estimate the quantity of flood in the basin slope, lithology, vegetation and rainfall data laxyers , were produced in Arc Gis 10 software, and Runoff coefficients in each basin were determined. Thus, the amount of Runoff coefficients for the of the Tange, Zereshki and Niak basins were calculated as 7, 6.8, 7.5 respectively. Also by using SCS method and knowing basin area, the volume of runoff for the Tange, Zereshki and Niak sub basins were estimated at 595,800, 392,000 and 568,000 cubic, respectively. Also, in order to determine the potential of runoff producing in different parts of the study basins, flood maps were prepared and assessed. for the catchment area of Tange, in about 1% of basin area, the runoff potential is low, 44% moderate and 55% of the area is high. for the Zereshki basin, area with low level potential runoff in is approximately 20%, 49% moderate and 31% of the catchment basin is categorized as high level. the Niak basin, area with low level potential runoff in the basin is approximately 20% of the basin area, 49% moderate and 31% of the catchment basin is classified as high level. In order to assess the quality of the flood, in May 2014 seven stations were sampled. Anions and cations amounts of water including sulfate, chloride, bicarbonate, sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium were measured in the laboratory and quality diagrams were drawn. Stiff and Piper diagrams show that the type of water is bicarbonate in the basins upstream and chloride in downstream. According to Schuler diagram, the source of main cations and anions is the same to the extent that can be considered almost identical.
