Abstarct: Catechol is a biological material which exceed the concentration of carcinogenic and harmful effects are irreparable entered. Determination and identification of the catechol on the bare electrodes such as platinum (Pt) is difficult due to high overvoltage and low selectivity. In this study, electrocatalystic properties of poly (1-amino-9,10-anthraquinon) in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), as an additive material for oxidation of catechole investigated. Furtheremore, electrochemical response of catechol on the modified PAAQ/SDS/Pt electrode compares with the PAAQ/Pt electrode. The results show that both modified electrodes have catalytic activity for electro-oxidation of catechol in which it is higher for prepared film in the presence of SDS. Oxidation potential of catechol on electrode surface of PAAQ/SDS/Pt shows a negative shift and also an increase of anodic peak current.Optimizing of Conditions in preparing of the modified electrode PAAQ/SDS to oxidation of catechol including synthesis methode, substrute electrode, thickness of polymer film, pH range of buffer, type of buffer, scan rate and.., show that the polymer film obtained from a solution containing 5 mM monomer PAAQ, 6 M sulfuric acid in the presence of 0.4 mM sodium dodecyl sulfate by cyclic voltammetry at scan rate of 80 mV/s in range of 0.0 to 1.3 V, 12 cycle for catechol solution in buffer pH=5 has the most catalytic effect. The SEM images of PAAQ/SDS Polymer films show decrease of particle size whith higher dispersion respect to PAAQ Polymer film. Kinetics experiments oxidation of catechol in different temperatures indicates that the activation energy of reaction on PAAQ/SDS/Pt electrode is lower than on the PAAQ/Pt. Investigation of the calibrasion curve for the oxidation of catechol on the surface of PAAQ/SDS/Pt, in the concentration range of 0.20 -7.75 mM shows a linear behaviuor (R2 = 0. 991) in the range of 0.1 – 6.0 mM of catechol. The low detection limit of catechol for investigation concentration was obtained equeal to 1.3 × 10-2 mM.
